Giacomo Sandri MTI

I strongly believe that everyone is capable of obtaining optimal health and live a fulfilling happy life. My path as a therapist started in 2017 after graduating in Herbal Medicine at the University of Lincoln. I then became a First Aid Responder in August 2017 and obtained the diploma in Holistic Massage at the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork in 2018. My experience as a therapist comes from my home-based clinic and festivals and events in UK and Europe. During my career I realised how close the relationship between body and mind is and especially how the alteration of one has a strong consequence on the other. My approach to the client is therefore holistic and person-centred. I give lot of importance to the psycho-emotional dynamics and how they affect the body.

For me, each session is unique. Everyone is different. I don’t know what will unfold during a treatment. I trust my intuition based on the connection I build with people.

My massage is at its best when I understand the individual and their needs. Einstein said “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask”

Mentoring students and practitioners is very rewarding. Supporting them on a personal journey which asks us to explore ourselves as well as developing the skills to work deeply and sensitively with people.

Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy is a precious time in a woman’s life, but it can also be overwhelming and daunting, both physically and mentally. As each pregnancy and each woman are unique your treatment will be specifically tailored to your needs following our initial consultation.

You will be mainly on your side during the treatment. The side lying position offers a number of positive physical and psychological benefits for both mum and baby. This position puts the muscles in the lower back into a relaxed position, gently lengthens the spine, reducing the effects of lower back pain whilst supporting the abdomen.

You may want to spend some of the time connecting physicallyand emotionally with baby in this calm, support space.

Prenatal massage is available to women in their second and third trimesters (from 13 weeks)

“Ewa gave my husband and I massages while we were in town for the weekend. She has such amazing energy and a wonderful touch. She was especially nurturing with me as I’m 8 months pregnant and she really took the time to individualize my treatment and care. She sat with me beforehand and asked many questions about the pregnancy and how I’m feeling which I though was really lovely. This was certainly the highlight for us as our last getaway before baby!”

Regular treatments

We have some of Bath’s most thoughtful and intuitive massage therapists. We want to get to know our clients and help them move in a positive direction, wherever that leads.

A good therapist has a gentle curiosity which combined with deep and intuitive massage creates a way to explore the whole of a person, exploring physical, mental and emotional aspects.

Physical touch can be used to draw attention into the body and focus it on a particular area. It can speak directly to the emotions and can alter the state of mind. It can be nurturing, supportive, connecting, challenging or playful.

This work helps clients understand the different languages that their mind, body and emotions speak. By tuning in to the voices and allowing them to be heard there is the potential to resolve inner conflict and find a more wholesome, accepting view of themselves.

Relationships with clients deepen over the sessions as a sense of direction emerges. We act as a guide, sounding board, support and mentor as clients undertake their journey.

There can be an ongoing discussion about the direction of the sessions which can vary over time and with changing life circumstances.

“Eva was so wonderful and has a really kind and healing energy to her. I had put my back out and was in pain and she gave me a massage focusing on the lower back and then also whole body. The next day I felt SO much better. It has made a huge difference and am so grateful for this. Maybe it was the fact I felt relaxed all over so my back could have time to heal. I can highly recommend! Thank you so much, I hope to be back soon.”

Can I say that?

Working with a trainee yoga teacher recently got me thinking about how clients relate to their massage therapist.

At Natural Touch we are big fans of yoga because in yoga you are listening to your body and giving what it needs.

As you might expect, the teacher in training I’m working with has a really good sense of his body and knows what he needs from massage to support his yoga. He was able to be very precise – guiding me to the exact points and the right amount of pressure he needed.

It made me wonder if other clients realise this is allowed. Do we carry an image of massage where clients are passive, thinking it’s not appropriate to say what they really need.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to be silent and inwardly engage with massage – it’s what many people do want – but I wanted to say it’s okay to be directive too, especially if it means that your massage really hits the spot.

If you’re interested in these ideas give us a call.

How was your weekend?

And how do you feel now you’re back at your desk?

If some or all of your working day is at a desk then you won’t be surprised to find how much of an impact it has on your physical well-being, but what you did at the weekend may be affecting you too. Did you push yourself too far on an adventure? Did other commitments mean you couldn’t get the exercise you really need? Maybe you had a perfect relaxing get-away and now realise how important is is to keep in touch with your body.

officeBack at work you might be trying to twist and flex your back or open out your shoulders. Position and reposition yourself on your chair trying to best help your body.

The biggest mistake our clients make

When clients come with a physical problem they often come with a story about how it happened. Lifting something, an awkward movement, getting in or out of the car, sleeping in the wrong position.

What people often fail to appreciate is that the problem has probably been building over time and has now just reached the point where they’ve realised it.

The key to physical health is to stay fit and flexible. We can help you do that.

If you’re at your desk now I hope you’re feeling good. Don’t forget to get up and move about regularly. Don’t stay later than you would really like to and go steady on the coffee.

Swedish body massage Bath

Swedish body massage

Classic body massage in Bath

A Swedish body massage is to enjoy. Ease the stresses out of your body, give it a shake up or receive some detailed work around your head, neck and shoulders. If your main aim is to chill out then this is the body massage for you.

This style of massage balances relaxing the bodily relaxation with mental relaxation.

Your massage will be tailored you. During the initial discussion you can let your therapist know how you feel and what you need. You can choose which parts of your body are included or opt for whole body. Your therapist will naturally be drawn to the parts that need it most.

Mostly this style of massage uses plenty of oil to allow long sweeping strokes over your body. Your therapist will judge the pressure you need, but just let them know if you prefer deeper or lighter.

Most people undress down to their underwear, but you can keep on any clothes if you’re more comfortable that way. You’re in charge. Your therapist will adapt the treatment.

Your massage can include back, neck, legs, feet, shoulders, head, face, arms and hands – whatever works for you.

And if there is anything to pick up on, your professional therapist can give you feedback and advice about what they’ve found.

We are your natural choice for body massage in Bath.

“After walking the Cotswold Way, my husband and I booked massages to tend to our sore muscles. Nigel and Mary were very attentive to our needs and we left there feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated. It was heaven. Our only regret was not booking a longer session.”
